Hello fans of PSL! It's been awhile since we've done any updates, but it's definitely not because we haven't been busy! The Kendrick House tours have resumed for 2011, and the next one is coming up on Saturday, March 12th. There are still a few spots open, so reserve yours today!
We have a new blog online for everyone to check out, where we will discuss a variety of things, including some of the processes and procedures we take when we investigate, how we review evidence, and theories about the paranormal. Right now, we have a discussion up about our evidentiary review (but more on that in a moment). Also, we have the new official PSL T-shirts designed and they'll be available for purchase in the near future!
Many people who have been on our tours of the historic Kendrick House in Carthage have been asking us about our findings so far - trust us, we haven't forgotten about them! We simply haven't finished reviewing all of the data yet. If it seems like it is taking us awhile, you're right: for an average tour and investigation, we have at least 8 stationary cameras running to our DVR system, plus 7 audio recorders, handheld video cameras, still cameras, and any other devices or experiments that we have running at the time. When you consider that we run the DVR and audio recorders an average of 8 hours, we have about 120 hours just of raw recordings to review, not including the handheld recorders and photographs to review. Because we care so much about accuracy in our investigations, we review each piece of evidence individually, multiple times, to ensure everything is covered thoroughly. At that point, once we have cataloged any anomalies, we try to recreate or debunk them by searching for natural or man-made causes. All things considered, a single investigation may take an average of 300 man-hours to successfully review - that's a hefty task, especially for an all-volunteer team!
With that said, we have a few very exciting things to share, and they should be uploaded within the next day or so, so stay tuned! And of course, for all the breaking PSL news and exciting evidence, follow us on Facebook!
Happy New Year from Team PSL! We've had a couple of very exciting investigations the past two weeks, as well as a wonderful tour of the Kendrick House on New Year's Day - the evidence review is underway, and we can say we've already gotten some great evidence!
In addition, we've scheduled our next tour of Kendrick House for February 19th - click the picture to the right to get to the signup page and reserve your spots for the tour! Remember, space IS limited, so don't wait!
Finally, we have a two-night investigation in Joplin coming up this weekend, January 14th and 15th, at a large location that definitely should keep us busy! In addition, there is a redesign of the website in the works to allow us to more rapidly update our news, evidence, and provide greater interactivity with PSL Team Members and fans alike - keep checking the website and our Facebook page in the near future!
We finally found some time during this busy season to update the site, and we have lots of exciting news in this update!
The Haunted History Tours at Kendrick House were a huge success!!! We had more people turn out than anyone anticipated and PSL team members had a lot of fun. We especially want to say thanks to the many families who came out with children. It was exciting to watch kids so interested in the paranormal AND history. We continue to receive requests for more Haunted History Tours and we have been listening. Tours will start again in January, 2011 by popular demand!! Even if you don't come out for a tour, we encourage everyone to make a donation to benefit Kendrick House. You can contact them directly on Facebook as well as their website.
Because of the success of the tours, PSL has been granted the exclusive right to continue conducting haunted tours at the antebellum home which survived the Battle of Carthage during the Civil War. The Battle of Carthage was the first land battle of the war and Kendrick House was occupied as a battlefield headquarters and field hospital. It was one of three houses to survive after the Union troops set fire to Carthage. Kendrick House has a rich history, including lots of paranormal activity. We are booking haunted tours for the new year, and have set January 1st as the first date for the 2011 tours! The fee for the historical tour and paranormal evidence review is $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for children, and $25.00 per person for the tour AND to join PSL on an overnight investigation. The proceeds help preserve a piece of Civil War history. There are limited spaces on the tours so book early! For any questions, please email Lisa, or to reserve your place on the tour, please click here to request a spot!
In addition to the scheduled tours, we have also decided to offer private tours/investigations for groups and organizations. We have already had members of the Missouri Humanities Council join us, and we are very pleased to announce that PSL will be hosting a group, Carpe Diem, of Columbia, Missouri, at Kendrick House on January 22, 2011. They will be joining us for a Haunted History tour and investigation, and we will try to visit other historical sites as time and weather permit. Be sure to check out their website to learn about all the group has to offer! If you are interested in a group tour, please email Lisa to set up a reservation. There is a 10-person minimum, and the cost is $250 for the group of 10, and $25 for each additional person beyond the first 10.
Recently, Paranormal Science Lab investigated Seminary Hall at NESUOK in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and had both a great time and an interesting investigation (stay tuned for results from the investigation)! A special thanks to Chelsea Copeland, PSL Team Member, who set up the investigation, and NESUOK for granting PSL access to such a beautiful building with a long history of paranormal activity. PSL also enjoyed a visit to historic Ft. Gibson, in Ft. Gibson, OK.

Finally, there are some exciting things afoot in the future for PSL! We have two investigations in Kansas scheduled for December: a revisiting of the historical house in Arcadia, and another historical building in Chetopa. Keep an eye out for updates and evidence we collect! In addition, there are several more investigation sites we're in the process of scheduling, including some historic sites that promise to be exciting - so stay tuned! If you know of any sites you think we should investigate, or if you need an investigation yourself, be sure to contact us, and let us know! We'll have new evidence from Kendrick House, and others, coming soon, so check back often!
Two great new articles about PSL and the Kendrick investigations are available, courtesy of the Joplin Globe! One is about the investigations, tours, and history of Kendrick, and the other is a shorter one about some of the tech we use on the investigations (Joe Hadsall, the writer, was extremely excited to play with all of our gadgets).
We are also pleased to announce that several members of the Route 66 Paranormal Alliance will be joining us for the investigation on the 29th of October, following the book signing of Route 66 group member, and author, Janice Tremeear's new book, "Missouri's Haunted Route 66: Ghosts Along the Mother Road." We're also hoping to have some other exciting events and news in the near future, so stay tuned! We have also divided up the tours to allow some options for everyone: We now have an option for the tour only, which allows you to come through and receive the historical information about Kendrick, as well as go over the evidence from previous investigations. This tour is available earlier in the evening as a Matinee tour, or later right before the investigation. The investigation itself begins after the historical tours are done, and allows you to actually join in the investigative process, learn about the tools we use, and conduct an investigation!
If you're planning on coming to a tour or investigation, don't wait to sign up!!! The tours and investigations are filling up quickly, and we have a limited number of spots available for each one! You can click the button on the right of the page to get to the reservation form - we hope you can join us!
Some new updates to the layout of the site, some great new EVP's are on their way, and some super exciting news about our partnership with Kendrick House in Carthage! We've gotten some great media coverage about these awesome tours, with more on the way! (Check out the article in The Carthage Press, the article in The Fuse, and be on the lookout for our upcoming articles in the Joplin Globe!) In addition, we've added a SPECIAL EVENT on October 29th - We will have Janice Tremeear, author of "Missouri's Haunted Route 66: Ghosts Along the Mother Road" on site starting at 8:00 p.m. Janice is a member of the Route 66 Paranormal Alliance, and investigated the Kendrick House in 2007. Copies of the book will be available for sale, and a portion of the proceeds from book sales on the 29th will go to help preserve the Kendrick House!

Finally got some updates to the website, and we have some EXCITING news! All of our backlogged evidence is now online for everyone to check out, and we can start moving forward on some exciting new things! Also, PSL now has a Twitter feed in addition to our Facebook group! If you don't know what Twitter is, it is an online social networking platform that allows updates in the form of short messages - great for getting info and updates on the go. It's one of the most popular social networking platforms today, it's used by everyone from individuals, companies, and celebrities, and it's SUPER easy to use! Just click on the Twitter box to the right of this page, sign up, and "follow" our Tweets! If you already have Twitter (and/or Facebook), be sure to friend/follow us for the latest goings-on in our investigations! You won't want to miss it!

The website has FINALLY been updated, given a new look and interface, and most of our evidence is finally up and functional! In the coming days, the rest of the evidence will be uploaded, the last couple of pages will be formatted to fit the new style, and we can finally get underway with some exciting new stuff! We have some exciting things in the works in regards to new equipment we've obtained, and that we're working on building ourselves, plus some new evidence to review and hopefully a couple of surprises - including some news about new features on the site, and some potential investigations for the future!
In addition, we will soon be adding sections to help you understand more about the paranormal, theories, investigative techniques, terms and definitions, and lots of other informative and educational material written by us!
