Paranormal Science Lab is very sensitive to our client’s needs and well being when it comes to handling our investigations, ghosts, hauntings, human interaction with ghosts, and other phenomena you may be experiencing. We try to be as non-invasive as possible during our research, and we are extremely respectful of both the living and the dead. We do nothing to increase the activity at your location, unless we have specific permission from you to do so. Regardless of whether you give permission or not, we will not attempt to increase the activity if we feel it will result in harm to any household member.
Although each case and client is different, there are some basic procedures and research guidelines that we would like to make you aware of prior to our investigation in an effort to make our research more scientific and successful and to make you more comfortable with having us in your home or business.
Twenty-four or thirty-six hours prior to the investigation, a team of two to three investigators will meet with you at your home or business. With your permission, we may record the interview and walk-through of your home or business. At this interview, we will ask you several questions about your experiences in the home, the claims of activity you are having, and general questions about those living in the home. The purpose of this meeting is to determine if we will investigate your home or business, to get an idea of what equipment we may need to bring, and where we will place our equipment.
During our investigation, you can expect a team of 4 to 8 investigators, depending on the size of the location and the events reported by witnesses. We do have a significant amount of equipment. Most of our equipment is handheld and is carried in equipment cases. None of our equipment is dangerous to you or your home. Most of the equipment you would recognize on sight, such as video cameras, cameras, digital recorders, etc.
Most of the investigations last 4-8 hours. Follow up investigations, if needed, may be longer or shorter depending on the individual case. We ask that just the residents of the home be in attendance and that no guests be invited unless we have discussed it with you prior to the investigation. If you have small children, it may be best to get a sitter, though sometimes the presence of the children may stimulate activity. If children are present, we can still investigate in the children’s room with infrared cameras, if you desire. We ask that you all remain in one central location in the house, unless accompanied by a team member. Feel free to talk normally, and do not whisper. Whispering can taint our audio recording. If you would like for an investigator to sit with you throughout the investigation and explain things as we go, please let us know before the investigation.
If you have pets, we ask that you board them, make arrangements for a pet sitter, place them outside or, at the very least, place the animals in carriers or in a room in an area with no reported activity. While the animals may be friendly, they could damage equipment or knock over tripods with sensitive cameras.
We will turn all of the lights off and will turn off as many electrical appliances as you will allow. No TV’s or radios may be on during our investigation because they will interfere with our audio and video equipment. Our infrared cameras need almost total darkness.
There can be no smoking or lit candles inside during our investigation because that can give false readings and interfere with our sense of smell.
You will receive a copy of all positive evidence collected for your home or business, including DVD’s, audio recordings, and photographs. In addition, you will also receive a final report after each visit to your home. It may take up to 6 weeks to review the evidence and finalize the report in some cases, but it generally will take only 1-2 weeks.
If you have any questions about our investigations, please don’t hesitate to ask!
