Claims & History
Louisville, Kentucky's
Waverly Hills Sanatorium is reportedly one of the most haunted places in the world. Serving as the leading tuberculosis hospital in the United States, it operated from its inception in the early 1900's until the 1960's, when it was shut down. Eventually, it was reopened as a rest home until it was shut down by the government due to rampant abuse and resident deaths. Needless to say, it has seen its share of misery.
Reports of haunting activity at this location have included disembodied voices and EVP's, full-body apparitions, and a variety of "shadow people" who roam the halls of this massive building. It has been investigated by paranormal groups from all over the globe, including such notable groups as TAPS (from the TV show "Ghost Hunters"), the cadets from Ghost Hunters Academy, and the team from the Travel Channel's "Ghost Adventures." On May 30th, 2010, we added ourselves to the ranks of those who have taken on the challenge of investigating this massive complex.
